Kapiti Treasures reflects the special relationship that the Kapiti district has with the much-loved, expatriate New Zealand artist Frances Hodgkins (1869-1947). The exhibition includes 30 paintings, drawings and lithographs gathered together for the first time from several private Kapiti collections. The show spans her development from an accomplished late 19th century genre painter, into a mature and unique artist fully engaged with European modernism.
