A celebrated and controversial evolutionary biologist, Richard Dawkins comfortably wears the mantle ‘Revolutionary Evolutionist'. Dawkins became a worldwide phenomenon with the publication of The Selfish Gene, a book which popularised a gene-centred view of evolution and introduced the idea of the meme. With The Blind Watchmaker, Dawkins established himself as an important critic of creationism and intelligent design. In The God Delusion he argued that the idea of faith is a delusion - an argument which found him an even larger audience. It has sold more than 1.5 million copies in English and has been translated into 31 languages. Dawkins' most recent book, The Greatest Show on Earth, sees him return to evolutionary biology as he takes on those who question evolution through natural selection. Join this radical thinker in conversation with Bernard Beckett.
